Our (second) First Day

Josie started a new preschool today. Instead of driving 3 miles to her old preschool we drove 36. Instead of going in the morning, she is going in the afternoon. Instead of 8 children, there are 24. Instead of having one teacher, she has 4. Instead of me wondering whether we are at the right school, I am overly confident that she will learn, grow and thrive in this new and exciting environment.

My only fear about this school is that it has a petting zoo. There are large cages with rabbits, chickens, birds and lizards. The children have to be supervised to play with the animals. But I was certain the second she saw the chickens we'd be high-tailing it back to Morgan Hill.

Instead, she cautiously walked up to the cage. Said, "hi chickens," and cautiously walked closer. The chicken started talking back to her and she laughed. I was relieved. Josie even liked the chickens better in Los Altos. We were off to a great start.
