Crows and Snails

The crows woke me up at 6am this morning. Nothing seems more cruel right now than being woken up by the horrible noise a crow makes while its sitting on a tree outside your window. It reminds me of halloween and witches and scary movies when birds chew threw a convertible top to get you.

When your child wakes you up in the middle of the night, the sound is coming from someone that you love. The noise may be just as irritating but at least when you wake up you get to walk in and see one of the world's cutest baby instead of an ugly black crow.

I don't think I ever heard the crows before. Maybe its because I live in Morgan Hill and everything seems more annoying here. Or maybe its because I used to sleep soundly in apartments in the City and wasn't so accustomed to waking up to sounds of birds or babies.

I walked outside to take Josie and Owen somewhere because it was raining and we were all tired of being stuck inside. A snail was on the ground making a bed out of an orange peel that my husband had thrown on the grass because "it was biodegradable and good for the environment." Since I live in Morgan Hill I let him do it. I don't care if people drive by and see all our trash thrown all over the front lawn. Please, our neighbors have chickens. If you want to complain knock on their door first.

I walked by the snail too disgusted to even kick it to the side. I was wishing those crows were there now to come by and scoop up the snail for a mid morning snack. Josie ran past it screaming. Owen stopped and picked it up. Josie and I screamed in unison, "NO OWEN!" Owen laughed. I wanted to cry. Nature is disgusting I thought as I opened the car door and saw a crow fly past me with enough sticks to build a nest for 10 in the tree outside my bedroom window.
