Today I was asked by the Morgan Hill Times to cover the Miss Garlic Festival Pageant. True Story. Never in a million years would I have imagined that I would one day be asked to cover such a story. Never in a million years would I have imagined my disappointment that I already had plans.
In fact, there were very few plans that I wouldn't have changed. I would have cancelled dinner with my own mother to cover this story. But Saturday night is Lorry's going away party - and I would never miss a chance to say goodbye to one of my best friends before she heads off to the lonestar state.
I am not only disappointed I will miss an opportunity to have a legitimate excuse to sit in the stands hanging on every word of contestants vying for the prize of Ms. Gilroy Garlic Festival. But I disappointed I won't get the opportunity to read what I write.
