I finally heard from my mom today. It was so wonderful to see her name in my inbox. But I have to admit, her email was a little irritating.
I will include an excerpt to show what I mean:
"Today we were in Shepherd's Field and in Bethlehem at the site of the birth of Jesus. Clem said Mass in a cavern on the site. I was the lector and Dad was Eucharistic Minister. Needless to say, it was a very special time.
Tomorrow we are off to Galilee for three days before we return to Jerusalem."
In my poignant, touching and hilarious blog yesterday I mentioned how I was thrilled my mother was having some time for herself. Well she doesn't have to brag about it. We all knew that teacher's pet would be the lector. And calling him Clem like they are BFFs now. Then describing their trip from Galilee to Jerusalem like she does it all the time. Such a know-it-all.
I guess the thing that bothered me most is that she didn't even mention the one thing that I thought would be first and foremost on her mind.
Did she read my blog?
I think this Holy Moly stuff is going to her head. I better track down Clem's cell phone number and see if he will let me talk to his new BFF, Tina. That is if she isn't practicing her reading for the next mass in Good Ol' Galilee.
