A horrible virus called the security tool virus has invaded our lap top. We are working on fixing it, but I have never dealt with anything like it before. It is a virus that pretends to be a security tool that helps you eliminate other viruses. For a while I fell victim to its trickery and tried delete the "fake viruses" through the security tool virus. Have I lost you already? Fortunately I got enough sleep last night and didn't submit my credit card information like the virus wanted. Warning to anyone who ever sees a security tool pop up on their screen - immediately call a computer professional. I included an image, which goes against my original intentions for this blog, but I felt like I owed everyone as much assistance as possible in avoiding a similar circumstance.
The humor to be found in the hours Norm and I spent trying to rid the computer of the virus is that said computer is his old work lap top that has been almost completely de-keyed by tiny toddler fingers. Its like we are testing the prototype for the worlds first touch keypad. We spilled a variety of beverages on it and melted the only remaining keys with a hair dryer. Panic set in not that we might have to buy a new lap top but rather that I would have to get up off the couch and use the desktop to write. And if that's the case, resolution or no resolution, this blog and my entire future as a writer is in jeopardy.
The fact that it is still an operating computer and is strong enough to fight this virus, is incredible in itself!
