Everybody's Swinging

We finally got a chance to get outside today. It was cold and wet, but at least it wasn't raining. We were all happy to be outside, including me, who hates being outside.

Josie drew circles with chalk. Owen played in the rocks. Slowly they both wandered over to the swing set, placed their hands on their respective swings and yelled, "Help" in unison.

Its impossible to be unhappy on a swing. When I swing with Owen on one side and Josie on the other, I always wonder why I ever complain about being a stay at home mom. Endorphins kick in when I pump my legs because its the only exercise I have gotten all week. The constant motion of the swing makes it difficult to focus on the tree a few feet away, let alone the negative things that overwhelm me.

"Everybody's swinging," Josie said with the kind of excitement that makes me feel like at least I did one thing right today.
